The System's programs (.COM and .EXE) and control tables (.LCS) are ready for
use "as is", as soon as they are copied to whatever disk is appropriate.
The "before example" COBOL source program (ARP910.COB) may be printed by the
PRINT operation (as any .TXT file), but is not part of the System and need not
be copied.
The user's manual (USRGUIDE.DOC) may NOT be printed by the DOS PRINT operation.
It is in document form, composed under WordStar 5.5. It must be either printed
by WordStar or run through the translation utility of whatever word processor
you do have before being printed. It is 17 pages long.
The registration form is REGISTR.TXT.
All responses to the System's programs (file names, Y/N, etc.) must be entered
with Caps Lock ON. There is no automatic translation from lower to upper case.
Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
