7T‹‹:ÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÇÇÇ!èàÈÈæ4OæóææTEST: Simplifies Opening a File Under MS-DOS(R), Windows(TM), or Assembly Language
TEST demonstrates a set of functions written by the author that handle any combination of file open requirements. Opening a file is a more complicated procedure than it appears. This set of functions simplifies the process.
TEST is a companion application for "Safer Functions for Working with MS-DOS Files" by David Thielen (Microsoft Systems Journal, Vol. 7, No. 4). The source code for this application has not been modified or tested for the Microsoft Developer Network CD. The source files may appear in various forms (source code only, ready to build, or ready to run).

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
