What's New in eps-060:

* Much more extensive discussion in README of how to set the
parameters for your printer.

* Lots more flexibility! Now you should be able to get any vertical
resolution your printer can theoretically print. (Well, it works for
me).

* Less dependence on built-in escape sequences. (VaddvStr).

* Skippable whitespace is now programmable. (can be turned off also)

* Code to search for skippable whitespace is now MUCH faster.

DESCRIPTION:

Eps is a dvi driver originally for epson 9-pin dot matrix.
Now it is sufficiently general to work for many kinds of printers,
with varying dpi, varying numbers of pins, etc. It was built from
the mctex package, which is found in the standard TeX distribution.

Eps compiles with c++. It is know to work on linux, and
should work on other unices. It used to build with djgpp on msdos,
but I haven't tried it lately. It used to build on msdos with bc, but
now this would need a little work.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
