Configure Minuet
----------------

1. From the C:> prompt, type SLIP MINUET.

2. Use the mouse to pull down the Setup menu and choose User...
- In the box labeled User Name, type your full E-mail address
(e.g., [email protected]).
- In the box labeled Password, type your password. (Be
careful to replicate UPPER and lower cases.)


Click on the "Test" button, or type Alt-T. If all goes well, click on the OK
button, or type Alt-K to close the setup screen. If you have problems, WRITE
DOWN THE TEST RESULTS and call the E-mail helpline at 626-7676.

Retrieve Messages
-----------------

Press [F3] to Fetch any messages waiting for you.

View Messages
-------------

Select Viewer from the Window menu to see the Incoming mail window. The
Incoming mail window is for viewing messages.
-Press [F8] to view the next message.
-Press [F7] to view any previous message.

View Index of Messages
----------------------

To view an Index of your messages, click in the Index check box in the upper
right-hand corner of the Incoming mail window or press Alt-I. To turn off the
Index option, click again in the Index check box or press Alt-I.

Send Messages
-------------

Select Composer from the Window menu to see the Composer window. The Composer
window is used to compose and send new messages.

1. Specify the recipient(s) of the message. Type in the E-mail
address(es) of the person(s) to whom you are sending the
message in the To: box. Separate each address with a space.
2. Press Tab, or click in the Subject: box. Type a short subject
for the message.
3. Press Tab, or click in the Message box. Type your message
here.
4. Press [F4] to send the message.

Delete Messages
---------------

1. When in the Incoming mail window, select the message you want
to delete. Remember, [F8] views the Next message and [F7]
views the Previous message.
2. Press [F6] to delete the message you selected.
3. In the Delete buttonUs dialog box, click once on Yes to delete
the message or No if you wish to keep the message.

Add a Signature to Outgoing Messages
------------------------------------

1. Choose Signature from the Setup menu.
2. Enter the information for your signature. Click on the OK
button.
3. Choose Preferences from the Setup menu.
4. Check the option "Add signature to outgoing mail." by clicking
in the box.
5. Press OK to exit this menu.

Function Keys in Minuet

Incoming mail Window

The Incoming mail window must be active to use the function
keys as described below.
--------------------

[F2] Compose
Select the Composer window. It is in the Composer window that you compose and
send new messages.

[F3] Fetch
Retrieve your incoming messages from your mail server. Think of the mail server
as an electronic mailbox.

[F4] Forward
Forward the message to another person. The Composer window is made active and
the Subject box is automatically filled in with
RForwarded message...S Be sure to type in the E-mail addresses of the
recipient(s) before sending the forwarded message.

[F5] Reply
Respond to the author of a message. The Composer window is made active and the
recipientUs E-mail address and the Subject box
are automatically filled in for you.

[F6] Delete
Delete the message currently displayed in the Viewer window.

[F7] Previous Message
View the previous message in the message viewer.

[F8] Next Message
View the next message in the message viewer.

Composer Window

The Composer window must be active to use the function keys
as described below.

[F2] View
Select the Incoming mail window. The Incoming mailwindow is used to view your
messages.

[F3] Alias
Select the Aliases you want from the list and press a - j or click Select. All
of the E-mail addresses will automatically be
inserted in the recipient box.

[F4] Send
Send your message when you are finished typing. Be sure there is at least one
recipient and that the Subject box is filled in.

[F5] Enclose
Include a document such as a report, spreadsheet, or graphic file with your
message in the Composer window. After pressing [F5],
select or enter the name of the file to be enclosed and click OK.

To Enclose additional files, press [F5] again; click on the Add... button;
select or enter the name of another file to enclose; and click
OK).

[F6] Delete
Delete the message currently displayed in the Composer window.

[F7] Previous Message
View the previous message in the Composer.

[F8] Next Message
View the next message in the Composer.
