This essay consists of three parts. The first is the timeline proper, "A
Star Trek Chronology." The second, "The Star Trek Future History" is an
article descibing the history of previous Star Trek chronologies and gives a
detailed description of the reasoning used in this chronology.

We hope you'll not dismiss this timeline as being incongruent with other
sources. We assure you that if you take the time to read the documentation,
you'll discover that very little was subject to our personal interpretation.
Only those items marked with an asterisk (*) have no clear basis in onscreen
evidence.

Part three is simply a list of common Star Trek abbreviations used in the
essay.

The authors would like to thank the users of the FidoNet TREK conference
- and in particular Michael Marek - for their insight and suggestions.

VERSION NUMBERING SYSTEM:
This essay is periodically updated. Beginning with Version 5.0, we
instituted a numbering system we hope will be more convenient for our readers.
The numbers before the decimal place indicate the season in which the most
recent changes to the timeline were made. The numbers following the decimal
are the most recent episode in which changes were made. Version 5.02, for
example, would indicate that the timeline takes into account statements made
through season 5, episode 2 ("Darmok").

DEDICATION:
To Eugene Wesley Roddenberry
His vision of a better future, and his hope that we can
become a better people will inspire those who share
his dream from now to beyond the 24th century

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
