The INTERLEAVE ADJUSTMENT UTILITY uses some very powerful features of your
computer system to effect changes. Most of the time, the program performs as
intended -- that is, it increases the performance of your hard disk.

Unfortunately, some computer systems will have problems running this program.

[----- -------- --- ------ -- ------- -- -------- ---- -- ----]
[These problems can result in partial or complete loss of data]
[----- -------- --- ------ -- ------- -- -------- ---- -- ----]

Earlier versions of the program caused these things to happen. I understand
the reasons why, and have corrected as many problems as people told me about.
However, there is always the possibility that more such problems could appear,
and cause data loss.

If you are going to run this program, be sure that your data is backed up. If
you refuse to back up your data, and still insist on running the program, then
at least you should select the "Test" cylinder for all your experimentation.
Assure yourself that the program is working correctly with your disk before
you select an operation over the "Data" portion of your disk.

This is probably good advice even if you have backed up. One improvement in
version 1.6 is that you can select which track(s) to perform operations on.
This will allow you to know right away if the program will work the way it's
supposed to.

The program cannot alter any of your data until you tell it to. You should
select "Help" at the opening menu and read the information there before you
proceed.

"The author has taken due care in preparing this program, including research,
development and testing to ascertain its effectiveness. The author makes no
expressed or implied warranty of any kind with regard to this programs. In no
event shall the author or any of his agents be liable for incidental or
consequential damages in connection with or arising out of the furnishing,
performance or use of this program.

"If your power fails during operation, you will probably lose data. If the
computer is bumped hard enough to disturb the hard disk mechanism, you will
probably lose data. There are other ways in which data may be lost, so please
exercise caution while this program is running."

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
