1INTRODUCTION
DRIV-MAN ÿis ÿa ÿdisk ÿutility management tool ÿthat ÿdisplays ÿpertinent
logical ÿdisk ÿdrive data - up to twenty-six drives - on a SINGLE ÿSCREEN
for analysis/storage.
The DRIV-MAN display includes: DRIVE DATA SUMMARY with capacity, used and
free ÿfor ÿeach available/selected drive, ÿDRIVE DATA GRAPH with the same
data for each drive, ÿTOTAL DISK SUMMARY and GRAPH, ÿand INDIVIDUAL DRIVE
DATA displaying information on one drive at a time.
Program options include: Toggle any of six sort orders for the DRIVE DATA
SUMMARY, ÿselectable/editable ÿdisplay ÿDRIVE RANGE, ÿdisk storage of the
DISK DRIVE SUMMARY display, ÿand the ability to run a file manager, FILE-
MAN, from within the program.
Registered users may also change the various display colors, the location
of the display sections, and various setup parameters.
2COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
The syntax for DRIV-MAN is:
[drive:path]DRIV-MAN [[first_drive][-][last_drive]][/a][/c][/gxxx][/m]
where:
first_drive default = C
last_drive default = LASTDRIVE as defined in DOS/CONFIG.SYS
/a = Automatically run DRIV-MAN and store the display.
/c = Force CGA monitor.
(/g)xxx = Optional configuration file extension (default is CFG).
Use of the configuration file is limited to registered
users only. Example: /gcg2 will use "DRIV-MAN.CG2".
/m = Force monochrome monitor.
Press [PAGEDOWN] for some first_drive - last_drive examples.

4[F2] EDIT DISK DRIVE RANGE
The ÿselected ÿdisk ÿDRIVE ÿRANGE may be changed and re-displayed without
exiting ÿand ÿre-running ÿDRIV-MAN. ÿÿEspecially ÿuseful ÿin ÿa ÿÿnetwork
environment, the range can be set for the physical drives of each system.
->úTo ÿchange ÿthe ÿselected/displayed ÿDRIVE RANGE, ÿÿpress ÿ[F2]. ÿÿThe
currently selected DRIVE RANGE is displayed. ÿEdit the DRIVE RANGE, using
the control keys noted on the bottom line, ÿas it would have been entered
on the command line. ÿWhen editing is complete, ÿpress [ENTER].
Ä>úTo leave the DRIVE RANGE as it was before editing, press [ESCAPE].
5[F3] STORE DATA
The DRIV-MAN screen display, ÿof ÿthe Disk Summary Data, may ÿbe saved to
allow comparisons with previous or future displays.
Using this feature, ÿa snapshot may be saved before cleaning up a logical
drive/drives ÿand then another ÿsnapshot saved afterward, for comparison.
Another ÿuse ÿis ÿto take Disk Summary snapshots monthly to see ÿhow ÿthe
system's disk status is changing over time.
->úTo ÿstore the screen display, ÿpress [F3]. ÿThe screen display will be
stored ÿin ÿa ÿfile ÿnamed "DRIVE-MAN.DAT", ÿÿand ÿa ÿcompletion ÿmessage
displayed. ÿIf this file already exists, ÿon the drive-directory on which
the program is located, ÿthe current data will be APPENDED to it. ÿIf the
file ÿdoes not exist, ÿit will be CREATED on the same drive-directory ÿas
the program.
6[F4] SHELLING TO A FILE MANAGER
FILE-MAN, ÿÿanother shareware program from Micrometric, ÿis a menu driven
file manager utility. ÿIt, ÿor another file manager, ÿmay be run directly
from ÿDRIV-MAN ÿto ÿcopy, ÿÿmove, ÿdelete files ÿor ÿperform ÿother ÿfile
maintenance functions.
->úTo ÿrun ÿFILE-MAN, ÿfirst select the desired drive ÿby ÿpressing ÿit's

Registered ÿusers may change the name of the desired file manager by ÿuse
of the configuration file.
7CONFIGURATION FILE
The ÿoptional ÿDRIV-MAN ÿconfiguration ÿfile contains all of the ÿdisplay
color and position variables. ÿÿThese ÿvariables are initially set to the
program ÿdefaults. ÿÿThey may be edited by use of any ÿASCII ÿeditor/word
processor.
USE OF THE CONFIGURATION FILE IS LIMITED TO REGISTERED USERS.

Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
