CRT_SAVE - SCREEN BLANKER

Purpose
-------

CRT_SAVE is yet another screen blanker program. It supports IBM
and compatible monochrome (MDA), IBM and compatible color (CGA),
IBM and compatible EGA and VGA and Hercules monochrome graphics
adapters. ========

In addition to blanking the screen, CRT_SAVE also beeps when
pressing the Caps Lock places the keyboard in upper case.

Some IBM (tm) BIOS chips have a bug - the cursor size gets set
to 6,7 even if the monochrome adapter is in use. Programs that
save, set and restore the cursor using the BIOS parameters get
confused. CRT_SAVE plugs in the correct cursor start/end scan
lines.

Installation
------------

To install CRT_SAVE, place the file CRT_SAVE.COM in the root
directory of your boot diskette or hard disk, and modify the
AUTOEXEC.BAT to include the command:
"CRT_SAVE/m" (no spaces)
where "m" is the number of minutes (1 to 9) after which the
screen is blanked if the keyboard and the video display are
inactive.
If you do not enter the "/m" parameter the program defaults
to 8 minutes.

Reboot your machine.

The program requires 816 bytes. It is usually installed last,
following other resident routines, but feel free to experiment.
