INTRODUCTION

Welcome and thanks for evaluating this shareware version of Wild
Pitch! 1.02, The Desktop Baseball Simulation.


WHAT'S NEW IN WILD PITCH! 1.02

The following changes have been made to Wild Pitch!:

o Automatic lineup selection has been added to the Lineup
dialog box! Now you can let the computer select the
starting lineup and pitcher.

After you've selected the teams for the game, choose the
Lineup command from the offensive or defensive manager
menu to display the team's Lineup dialog box.

Move to the Lineup list box by pressing and clear
the team's existing lineup (see below for information on
this) by pressing . Then press the Auto button
for automatic lineup selection.

Players are chosen for each fielding position based on
their actual playing time and then sorted into a batting
order based on their actual batting/running stats.
Starting pitchers are chosen based on the number of actual
games started and innings pitched.

o You can now clear the current lineup in the Lineup dialog
box by pressing when the lineup list box is
active. This can only be done during pregame activities
and you'll be prompted before the lineup is cleared.

o Fixed a small problem - a few team pitching stats were not
being accumulated (complete games, shut outs, and saves).
Now they're totaled correctly.

o Better error checking for minimum system requirements.
You'll now be notified if your system does not have the
minimum amount of conventional RAM or free hard disk space
necessary to play a game. Minimum conventional RAM is 530K
and at least 400K free disk space must be available.

The Wild Pitch! User Guide can be found in the text file WP.DOC.
To print the User Guide, make sure your printer is on-line and
type

C>copy wp.doc prn

from the prompt at DOS and press .


INSTALLATION

To run the installation program, insert the Wild Pitch! disk
into drive A and type:

C>a:install

from the prompt at DOS and press . Follow the prompts on
the screen.


QUICK START

To start the program, type the following at the DOS prompt:

C>cd\wp
C>wp

To exit from the program, choose the Exit command from the Game
menu or press from anywhere in the program.


WILD PITCH! IS SHAREWARE

The Wild Pitch! software is being marketed as shareware. That
means that you are allowed to try the software during the 30
evaluation period before you buying it. If after 30 days you'd
like to continue to use it, you'll have to order the registered
version.

the benefits of becoming a registered user.


UPLOADING WILD PITCH! TO BBS'S

Please feel free to give copies of Wild Pitch! to any of your
friends and upload it to any Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) that
you use. When uploading Wild Pitch!, please use the file name
WP10.ZIP. For sample BBS descriptions of Wild Pitch!, please see
DESCRIBE.DOC.
