Distributed by Federal Hill Software
8134 Scotts Level Road
Baltimore, Md. 21208

This is The Cambridge Thoroughbred Handicapper. Your disk or
archive file should contain the following files:

THORO.BAT* The batch file that starts the program.
NTHO4SW.EXE* The handicapper program.
NTHO4SW.PAK* The screen files used by the program.
SPEEDSCR.COM* A memory resident screen driver.
THORO4SW.DOC Instructions for the use of the program.
PRINTME.BAT A batch file to print the instructions.
CAP.CFG* Information about your monitor.

The files marked with asterisks (*) must be on the disk or in the
directory from which you launch the program.

To print the manual, make sure your printer is on line. Then type
PRINTME and hit RETURN.

To run the program, type THORO and hit RETURN.

Notes on Verion 4.1 - This version is visually identical to Version
4.0 but contains important changes to the handicapping formulas.
It will result in a larger spread between higher and lower-rated
horses. It will also do a better job of weeding out horses that
show early speed but fade at longer distances.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
