If you are a SYSOP of a BBS system, you are free to distribute RACE THE NAGS
via your board. The suggested file name is RTNAGSxx.ZIP, where xx is the
version number. For example, version 1.0 would have the file name
RTNAGS10.ZIP, version 1.5 would be RTNAGS15.ZIP, etc.. Please use this file
naming convention to avoid multiple copies of the same version.

Your copy of RACE THE NAGS should contain the file FILE_ID.DIZ. As you
probably know, this file contains the description of the game that you should
post on your board. Some BBS software will automatically post this
description. FILE_ID.DIZ contains 8 lines of text, with a maximum of 45
characters per line.

There are two "flavors" of RACE THE NAGS. One is the SHAREWARE copy, the
other is the REGISTERED copy. When someone registers the game with me, I send
them a registered copy. If by chance someone should upload the REGISTERED
copy to your board, YOU MUST DELETE IT! It's easy to distinguish between the
two. The SHAREWARE "flavored" copy displays the words << EVALUATION COPY >>
on the title screen, while the REGISTERED "flavor" displays the words
<< REGISTERED COPY >>. If someone should upload the registered copy, I'd
appreciate it if you would 'slap their wrists' for me by reminding them that
this practice is NOT permitted, then delete it.

Thanks!

Dick Olsen

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
