Helping you take control of your computer
MOMASKS is a little compiled BASIC program I wrote to put on my
daughter's computer when she went off to college. The purpose of
the program is to provide a daily dose of the motherly feedback
that all students need. The program contains thirty (30)
reminders from Mom which are randomly displayed on the screen
(such as "Have you written home recently" or "Do you have clean
underwear?"). If more "Mothering" is needed, pressing the M key
will get another reminder. Pressing any other key will end the
The program is intended to be added to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file so
that a reminder is displayed each time the machine is booted.
There are no parameters; and no fancy graphics are used so
MOMASKS should run on almost any IBM-compatible computer. To run
MOMASKS, just type MOMASKS and press ENTER.
You are encouraged to share this program with your friends as
long as 1) no modifications are made to the program or this
documentation file, 2) both files (MOMASKS.EXE and MOMASKS.DOC)
are distributed together, and 3) no charge other than a nominal
duplication fee is made for the distribution. If you, or your
child gets a smile or a warm feeling from this program; a $1.00
registration fee senty to the address below will register you and
qualify you for a free copy of the next version (once I get
feedback from my daughter at school). In any case, I hope you
enjoy this little bit of Mothering.
