Hey? Someone actually looking at this file? Good! Because:

Here's version 1.1 of MechWar, code (C)1992 by Klaus Breuer.

The documentation is in several formats:

MECHWAR.DOC - Standard plain ASCII file
MECHWAR.PRN - For printers with BS, CR capability
MECHWAR.EPS - For most Epson printers
MECHWAR.PS - For PostScript printers

Also: the sprite files (*.NFO and *.CSP) must be in a subdirectory called
SPRITES. If you didn't use the -d option when unzipping, copy them all
there now, otherwise the game _won't_ work.

I've left MechWar's .GIF file away - I found it was eating too much
RAM, and we're rather short of that anyway.

Have fun, let's hear from you!

Klaus

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
