DOCUMENTATION FOR GLASS MINUS
A FAKEWARE PRODUCTION
Although there are many excellent utilities available for
the IBM-PC and compatibles, few competent people have addressed
the problem of keeping the machine clean. There have been some
text files on taking apart your Tandons and so forth, but they do
not automate the process. I myself, was bitterly disappointed by
SWEEP which appeared to devote itself to various forms of file
manipulation and did absolutely nothing to remove the crumbs
which encrust my keyboard. Accordingly, I set to work on WHIZ.COM.
Most are aware that CRT's require constant cleaning because
dust particles adhere to their outside surface. Less well known,
is the fact that their inside surfaces become deeply coated with
soot--something not always readily apparent, but why else would
so many of them be known as RGB ? The B of course, being black.
WHIZ.COM (I would have preferred to call it SWEEP--but that has
been usurped) does an excellent job of removing these noxious
deposits from the inside of your CRT.
I trust you will find this as useful as the other utilities
in the FAKEWARE series.
