@REM The name of this file is - FS5RMPA.BAT
rem *When FS5 starts you will be in the Normal Flight Mode with
rem the TSR active [you do plan to fly don't you? 8-)]. To turn
rem the TSR off while in FS5 at any time, press the 5 key in the
rem top row of keys (not the 5 on the Numeric Keypad).
rem To turn it back on again, press the 5 key again and move
rem the rocker switch on the WCS II handle to any position.
rem The TSR will reactivate in whatever mode you have moved the
rem rocker to. There really is no reason to ever manually turn
rem the TSR off, you will lose the 8-way viewing if you do. ***
rem *Remember there are THREE MODES with the TSR active. Rocker up
rem is Comms/Nav mode, Rocker down is Landing/Takeoff mode, Rocker
rem middle is Normal Flight. Refer to READFS5A.TXT to see what
rem options are available in each mode.***
rem *The FS5 Remap TSR will now load and then FS5 will start.
rem If you are ready, kneepad, portable GPS unit, survival vest,
rem maps, parachute, pizza and beer (FOR AFTER THE FLIGHT ONLY!),
rem fly rod, flies, kreel, waders, backpack, relief bottle, IFR
rem charts, Approach plates, grease-pencil, IFR Folding Plotter,
rem Flight Plan, Weather Report, E6-B Flight Computer,
rem prayer book... ***
rem *Make sure the WCS II handle is in the FULL OFF (handle all the
rem way back) position before proceeding!*****
rem *AFTER YOU ENTER FS5, click button 1 on the WCS II handle until
rem the views start cycling and return to the cockpit, THEN, hit
rem the "k" key on the keyboard to calibrate your joystick. Then
rem flick the Rocker switch on the WCS II handle to the down
rem position and you will be in the Landing/Takeoff mode of
rem the remap. Ready to fly.***
rem *Please place the RED MODE SWITCH on the base of the WCS II
rem in the ANALOG position now........
rem CLICK BUTTON 1 ON THE WCS II HANDLE at the pause message!
rem Happy flying, Buzz Hoffman, Chief Test Pilot, ThrustMaster, Inc.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read:
