@REM The name of this file is - DFS5A.BAT
@CLS
rem *** This file will download the file FLTSIM5A.ADV & switch to
rem C:\REMAP & run the file FS5RMPA.BAT which will load
rem FLTSIM5A.RMP and will load the TSR, and then switch to
rem C:\FLTSIM5 directory and run FS5. When you exit
rem FS5, FS5RMPA.BAT will remove the remap TSR.
Pause
@CLS
rem *** Some very early Mark II WCS were shipped with a disk that
rem did not contain all the remap files. If the remap TSR
rem is not loading or working, you may have one of these
rem early disks. Check to see if you have both a C:\REMAP
rem subdirectory that was created when you installed the
rem software and C:\REMAP appears in your path statement and
rem the C:\REMAP subdirectory contains the following files:
rem KBDRMP.COM, TBL_FLL.EXE, WCC.EXE, CH_FILE.DAT & README.
rem You will need those five files for the remap TSR to work
rem properly. If you do not have these files, contact
rem ThrustMaster at 503-639-3200 for a replacement disk. ***
pause
@CLS
rem If you have already downloaded FLTSIM5A.ADV previously,
rem hit Ctl-C and then answer Y to the terminate question.
rem Then switch to the C:\REMAP directory & run FS5RMPA.BAT.
Pause
@CLS
rem *** Place the RED mode switch in DIGITAL and the BLACK mode
rem switch in DIGITAL mode.
rem *** After you enter FS5, you will be using ANALOG throttle
rem so choose Joystick A - Ailerons/Elevator, and Joystick
rem B - Throttle Only or Throttle/Rudders(if you have rudders)
rem in the FS5 Options/Preferences/Joystick Menu choice.
rem If you don't have rudders you may want to consider getting
rem the ThrustMaster RCS. Even if you don't have rudders, so
rem long as you have the ThrustMaster WCS II and FCS or
rem PFCS these files will work with FS5. ***
pause
@CLS
rem Use the FS5 menu Options/Preferences/Joystick/Throttle
rem Sensitivities (Also Aileron/Elevator/Rudder Sensitivities
rem if you wish) until your controls respond the way you
rem prefer, that's what the Sensitivity settings are there
rem for.
Pause
@CLS
rem *** If, for example, when you push the throttle to full
rem travel, you do not get full throttle travel, then
rem adjust the sensitivity setting for throttle in menu
rem Options/Preferences/Joystick/Throttle Sensitivity
rem to a higher number until the throttle is responding
rem properly. I have a 486/66 and I set the throttle
rem sensitivity to 5.5. This gives me the throttle
rem response I like. Do the same for any other controls
rem you have.
Pause
@CLS
rem *** You will be told to click button one on the WCS II
rem YOU MAY HAVE TO CLICK IT MORE THAN ONCE EACH TIME!!! ***
rem *** ONLY CLICK BUTTON 1 WHEN YOU ARE TOLD TO DO SO - otherwise
rem hit a key on your keyboard at all pause messages. *****
Pause
@CLS
rem *** CLICK BUTTON 1 ON THE WCS II HANDLE UNTIL THE DOWNLOAD STARTS
rem and you get a message to change the RED WCS II mode switch to
rem the CALIBRATE POSITION WHEN IT TELLS YOU TO PRESS ANY KEY
rem AFTER THE PAUSE MESSAGE ***
Pause

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
