Key map for F3modes4.rmp
Air Combat Mode (Mode 1 - rocker switch up)
-------------------------------------------
button 1 = flare (INS) / chaff (DEL) [this dispenses flare for the first
key press then chaff for the next
one, and so on]
button 2 = radar on/off (R) [I do this because of enemy ecm
jamming screwing up my AIM-9 lock]
button 3 = target select (T)
button 4 = clear lock (X)
button 5 = IFF check (N)
button 6 = speed brakes (B)
Normal Air Mode (Mode 2 - rocker switch center)
-----------------------------------------------
button 1 = flare (INS) / chaff (DEL)
button 2 = radar scan distance (F8)
button 3 = target select (T)
button 4 = clear lock (X)
button 5 = radar lock (Z) / IFF check (N) [toggle between radar lock
then IFF check]
button 6 = speed brakes (B)
Ground Attack Mode (Mode 3 - rocker switch down)
------------------------------------------------
button 1 = flare (INS) / chaff (DEL)
button 2 = ecm on/off (E)
button 3 = target select (T)
button 4 = clear lock (X)
button 5 = ILS (\) [this will turn on/off the ILS, but
it will not provide access to mode 4]
button 6 = speed brakes (B)
Power Approach Mode (Mode 4 - "\" key from keyboard)
----------------------------------------------------
button 1 = flare (INS) / chaff (DEL)
button 2 = flaps (F)
button 3 = gear (G)
button 4 = wheel brakes (W)
button 5 = ILS (\)
button 6 = speed brakes (B)
Button 5 in both modes 3 and 4 will turn on/off the ILS, but it will not
activate mode 4. To get into mode 4, you must push the "\" key on the
keyboard. This is necessary because you can't use a remapped key (button 5
in modes 3 and 4) as a mode control key. You can get out of mode 4 by
simply using the rocker. Remember, if you want to turn off the ILS because
you got jumped or spotted a target of opportunity on final, you must push
button 5 in either mode 3 or 4 to turn it off and return to normal ops.
Note that F3modes4.rmp starts in the Power Approach mode. I did this
because I fly campaigns mostly, so I start on the runway. For Instant
Action or airborne-start Red Flag missions make sure you toggle the rocker
switch to get out of the Power Approach mode or change what mode
F3modes4.rmp starts in with the WCC program. I tried to keep the keys
as close to the original as possible while also keeping consistency between
the different modes. Hope you find it useful.
