WELCOME TO ANIMAL QUEST 1.50 ( SHAREWARE VERSION ) 01-NOV-1992


* SETUP: Before you start the game, run the installation program SETUPAQ.
The SETUPAQ will create a configuration file, AQ.CFG, containing your
preferences. From then on, simply type AQ to start the game.
Please note that ANIMAL QUEST requires a minimum 512K of system memory.

* GRAPHICS: To use ANIMAL QUEST, an EGA or VGA adapter is required.
Optional Super VGA graphics support is provided for most of the popular
chipsets and the VESA standard. To use Super VGA graphics, your card
must have at least 512K video memory on board and your monitor must be
able to support 800 X 600 resolution.

* MOUSE support: A Microsoft compatible mouse is required. The mouse
driver must be loaded before running the program. The driver must be
a recent one, 1989 or later. If you have compatibility problems with
your mouse you may want to try using the latest Microsoft Mouse driver
instead of the mouse driver that came with your mouse package.

* DIGITIZED SOUND support: You can hear the voices of the animals clearly,
either through one of the supported sound card or the "PC speaker Digitized
sound" option from the SETUPAQ.
AT class machine ( 286 or better ) is required for digitized sound.

* MUSIC support: Both PC speaker and sound card FM music is supported.
AT class machine ( 286 or better ) is required for sound card support.

** NOTE: If you use the Digitized Sound Effects or Sound card Music option,
you should NOT run AQ under the Microsoft WINDOWS environment.
( Sound drivers are TSR and therefore cannot be loaded under Windows )

* SHAREWARE version: Some of the animal voices and detailed graphics have
been omitted from this shareware version of FOREST to save space. Also
OCEAN and JUNGLE animals are only available in the complete Animal Quest
version, see file ORDER.DOC for ordering information. The full version
is Enhanced with over One Megabyte of graphics, music and sound effects.
