Known problems
--------------

Defective coprocessors. Mercury exercises the math coprocessor fairly
thoroughly, and a coprocessor which is not rated at the correct clock
speed may not perform correctly. If you get mysterious crashes, try
turning of the math coprocessor with SET 87=N at the DOS prompt.

The newer Intel 80287 chips and clone chips will be identified as a
an 80387, as they behave more like a 80387.

User-defined functions cannot be used in a problem where all the
variables are complex.

Mercury uses a lot of RAM. You may have unload some of your TSRs or
device drivers for Mercury to run.

The GIBBS.EKA is slightly different from the one shown in the manual.

To send me a fax, you have to call first on a voice line and warn me
that a fax is coming.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
