CHANGES FROM v1.0

NEW LOWER MEMORY REQUIREMENTS - The amount of available memory
required by Fixed Asset Pro has been reduced from 512k to under
470k.

THE WAY SECTION 179 IS HANDLED IN THE FINANCIAL, STATE & OTHER
BOOKS - One fifth of the Section 179 is now added to the Current
Deduction for five years. This will allow Fixed Asset Pro to
accumulate the normal depreciation and the section 179 together.
In the year of disposal sec 179 will not be allowed so it will
not decrease the basis for computation of gain on the disposal of
the asset.

FIXES

SWITCH YEAR - was lost under certain conditions.
METHOD "NONE" - was not capable of over-riding all rule checking.
LASERJET - condensed mode reports not printing correctly.
PRINT OPTIONS - would not allways change printers.
PROJECTIONS - would intermitantly hang computer.
ROUNDING - totals on reports did not equal sum of each item.
SUBTOTALS - not printing if at bottom of page.
FIND - would hang computer if two searches failed.

CONVERTING FROM v1.0 TO v1.2

After installing the new version:
Open the v1.0 file you would like to convert.
Select ataentry.
Select sset.
Press . (The file is converted to the new format while the
totals are being re-calculated.)

INSTALLATION

To conserve space, the Fixed Asset Pro disk(s) contain compressed
versions of Fixed Asset Pro program files.
Fixed Asset Pro requires a hard disk with at least 2 MB of free disk
space for installation. The Fixed Asset Pro program will use
approximately 1.5 MB of disk space after it is installed.

The first time you run Fixed Asset Pro you will be asked for a data
subdirectory. We recommend that you keep your data in a subdirectory
other than the FApro subdirectory. The default is "Prodata".

Fixed Asset Pro installation is simple as 1 2 3.
1) Insert disk 1 into the correct drive for the disk(s)
(5-1/4 or 3-1/2).
2) If you put the disk in A: then at the DOS prompt type
A:Install
If you put the disk in B: then at the DOS prompt type

B:Install
Press .
3) Follow the onscreen prompts while Install steps you
through the installation.
When the Install program is finished, you can start Fixed Asset Pro by
typing: FApro .
If you need Black & White mode type: FApro M

For those who like to do their own installations, the files are self
extracting. You may copy the two files (FApro112.Exe, FApro212.Exe) to
a subdirectory on your hard drive using the DOS Copy command. The
recommended subdirectory name is "FApro". Once you have copied the two
files into your subdirectory just run FApro112 and FApro212 to extract
all the files. After both programs have finished you should delete the
two files (FApro112.Exe, FApro212.Exe) from your subdirectory. Fixed
Asset Pro requires that the FILES= statement in your Config.Sys file
be set to 30 or greater.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
