It uses a flash card method to help students, or any interested party,
increase their vocabulary. By using this program, one can create
separate files for various fields, e.g., English, foreign language,
science, literature, art, and technical fields like computer science.
The program is user friendly and allows testing words in the sequence
they were entered, or in random sequence without repeating words.
Troublesome words can be output to a new file during testing to create
another file containing only words that are not yet learned. An
option is available to print the words and definitions alphabetized
by words. Feel free to modify and distribute the program in any way
you like.
The file FRENCH.VOC is included in the archive file only to demonstrate
a way I have used this program in the past. New files are easily
started by using the first option of the main menu to change the
file name to one which does not exist on the default disk.
Many error traps exist in the program to make the program user
friendly. I recommend using a RAM disk (Virtual Disk) when
using this program, but of course it is not necessary. For
more information on using the program, run it and type ? at the
main menu. Play around with it creating practice programs before
actually beginning to use it for real. Have fun increasing your
vocabulary!
Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
