MERGCOMP

Component file merge utility for SchematicMaster

This program is used to merge any components which you designed
for SchematicMaster v1A into the current component set for SchematicMaster
v2.00. This is necessary because some components have been added to the
beginning of the library for use by the system.

To use the program, you need the CP.DAT file from your old working
version, which will contain all the component definitions that you added to
the library.

Copy the CP.DAT file into the same directory as the new version,
and run MERGCOMP. What you will see on the screen is a list of all the
components in the old file, with a highlight bar over the first one.

To effect the merge of the two files, move the highlight bar over
each component you wish to keep, and press the RETURN key. The name will
change to "MOVED", indicating that the component has been inserted into
the new file. Don't bother moving the ones that came with the program -
they're already installed.

After you have moved all the ones you wish to keep, press ESCAPE
to exit the program. At this point, you can fire up SchematicMaster and
check out the library with the component utilities, and arrange the library
to your taste.

NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE

If you happen to have two components of the SAME NAME in the library
after the merge, you need to follow this procedure to get access to the
second one:

EDIT the component (you will only be able to edit the first
component of that name)
CHANGE it's name to something that you are sure is not
being used.

At this point, you can edit both of them, and rearrange
the names to suit you.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
