| This program will accurately interpret arterial blood gases in terms of both oxygenation and acid-base status. The adequacy of oxygenation is based on the relation that a normal PaO2 = .9*(104.2-Age*.27) and a normal aA difference= .9*(2.5+Age*.21). The p50 is calculated from the knowledge of the normal oxyhemoglobin dissociation curve. Oxygen dosing is prescribed on the basis of the Alveolar Air Equation. The acid-base determinations are derrived from a number of published equations. |

Contents of the README file
If you want to clear all of the patient examples included
to begin a new database, just edit the file: FILES.DOC.
A text editor would be ideal for this project. The pro-
gram only reads the entries from this file and does not
check the disk directory. You can erase all the example
patients by typing DEL *.PFT followed by Y.
