There are two files included in the archived set that contain the
spelling words used in the program:

1) easyword.txt

2) hardword.txt

These are both standard text files that the program opens and
uses to input the spelling words. You can change the words as
you like but must keep the same format as the original. Namely,
the words need to be separated by a comma and there can not be
any other symbols inserted, you can not break a word between two
lines and as you'll find out there are some words that the sbtalk
just doesn't do justice. IMPORTANT: all word must be in lower
case and there can be no upper case text at all. I picked the
original words by going through many different ones and
listening
to see if it was said well. Words that start with the letter
"b" are not pronounced real well for some reason. Each file can
only contain 50 words
at a time. One approach is to create several files of easywords
and name them easyword.one,easyword.two,etc. and then when you
are ready to use that file rename it easyword.txt (or
hardword.txt). The program will only read the files
easyword.txt and hardword.txt and both have to be present at the
start of the program.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
