Well, that depends. There are ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ advantages and disadvantages to both. CMOS is the newer type ÛÛÛÛÛ ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ and I think that one day, they will be the IC of the future. ÛÛÛÛÛ ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ TTL consumes more power that CMOS, but is less expensive and as already stated earlier, can stand up a little better to ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ handling. They require a voltage of between 4.75 volts and ÛÛÛ 5.25 volts to operate. There is no popular battery available ÛÛÛ that puts out 5 volts. Because of this, you have to use some method to regulate the voltage within that range. ÛÛÛÛÛÛÛ Û CMOS not only uses less power than TTL, but can operate in the ÛÛÛÛÛÛ 3 volt to 15 volt range. A 9 volt battery works just fine. ÛÛÛÛÛÛ Û Most of the more complex types of circuits are being made ÛÛÛ Û using CMOS. On the down side, CMOS is effected more by Û electrical "noise" than TTL, and can be damaged very easily by static electricity. ÛÛÛÛÛ Due to lower costs and less chance of damaging the IC's while handling them, we will be using a type of TTL chips in our lab projects. ÛÛÛÛÛ ÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwPtgtDtnt ~(~f~o~r~w~a~r~d~)~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~PtgtUtpt t(~b~a~c~k~w~a~r~d~s~)~ w w w w ~ ~ ~EtStCt ~(~M~e~n~u~)~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Qtu~i~t~ÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwÛwÛw

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
