RICHARD ALAN LITCHFIELD
FBI Director William H. Webster announced today that Robert Alan Litchfield, a
convicted bank robber, kidnaper, and burglar, has been named to the FBI's list
of the "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives."
Litchfield is being sought in connection with stealing over $190,000 during a
series of three bank robberies spanning the states of Georgia, Florida and
Michigan in which he took hostages, used handguns and issued bomb threats.
Litchfield reportedly arrived at all three banks in taxi cabs. He allegedly
instructed the cab drivers to wait outside the bank while he conducted business
transactions. Litchfield then returned to the cabs immediately following the
robberies and rode off.
Litchfield has been charged with Bank Robbery in Federal warrants issued on
August 29, 1986, in Orlando, Florida, and Detroit, Michigan. He has also been
charged with Bank Robbery in a Federal warrant issued on September 19, 1986, in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Litchfield escaped from the Federal Correctional Institution in Talladega,
Alabama, on February 4, 1986, where he was serving a lengthy prison sentence for
bank robbery. Litchfield was convicted of bank robbery November 18, 1985,
following his involvement in a series of 15 bank robberies in the Miami,
Florida, area between the years of 1983 and 1985. Litchfield was reportedly
nicknamed the "Block House Bandit" during that period because the robberies took
place at bank drive-in facilities which were built separate from their main bank
buildings.
Born April 8, 1948, in Quincy, Massachusetts, Litchfield is described as a
6-foot, 195-pound white male with black hair, brown eyes, and a three-inch scar
on the back of his upper right leg. Litchfield has previously worked as a truck
driver and has training as a dental assistant. He has used Social Security
number 021-36-6070 and the following aliases: Martin Carrol, A. Litchfield,
Robert Allan Litchfield, and Robert Allen Litchfield.
Litcfield may be accompanied by his wife, Donna Litchfield, who is being sought
by law enforcement authorities for bond default. Donna Litchfield, born March
1, 1951, in Cullman, Alabama, is described as a 5-foot-5-inch, 115-pound white
female with brown hair and brown eyes.
Robert Alan Litchfield is the 408th fugitive to be placed on the FBI's "Ten Most
Wanted Fugitives" list and the first fugitive to be added to the list this year.
He replaces Terry Lee Conner, who was apprehended in a cooperative effort by
the Bureau and the U.S. Marshals Service on December 9, 1986, in Arlington
Heights, Illinois, near Chicago. Conner was arrested outside a motel and was
unarmed and made no attempt to resist arrest. Conner had been sought in
connection with a series of bank robberies in the midwestern and western U.S. in
which hostages were taken.
Anyone with information regarding Litchfield or his wife should take no action
other than to contact the nearest office of the FBI, the number of which can be
found on the first page of most telephone directories. Litchfield, who has been
previously convicted of bank robbery, kidnaping, and burglary, should be
considered armed, dangerous and an escape risk.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
