ASTROVU is a Turbo Pascal 5.0 compiled program that shows the positions of the planets at any time for any geographic location. The menu is fairly self explanatory so the user can modify parameters as needed. The planets are displayed using the Sky & Telescope symbology. The positions of the sun and moon are also displayed as well as lunar phases. In addition to the graphical display, the position of all objects are displayed numerically with the visible objects in white. The sky is also colored to coordinate with the sun's position, ie. cyan light cyan in daytime, black at night, and various shades of blue during sunrise and sunset. Also shown are some of the brighter stars around the ecliptic. Stars are displayed as reference only. The celestial equator and ecliptic are also depicted. The calculations were taken from "Practical Astronomy with your Calculator" by Peter Duffett-Smith.
