*********** GATEWAY/NODE **********

There are 2 conditions to work gates successfully:

1..Tnc's must accept changing of calls between streams.
2..Tnc's must change calls even if there is a connected
channel. IF one of these rules doesn't occur, then don't
support gateway/node channels. They will not work.

The maximum number of gates or nodes or both is always
two.One per tnc. If you have more than 2 tnc's,then you
have to choose only 2 of them. Definition of gates,in the
cnf file.Just put a 'G' in the channel's gate flag.It is
selectable to work with both gateway/node or node only.
Gate prompt controls this selection. If you remove the 'X'
command from there, then the channels work as nodes else
work as gateways/nodes. (Gate prompt has declared in the
cnf file.)

Gates work succesfully under tnc-2 or drsi card, but not
under PK-232.So be carefull.

You can have gates between the same tnc types. You can't
put a gateway channel in the drsi card and another in a
tnc-2. If u have two tnc-2 put one gate channel on each.If
u have a drsi card mark as gateway only one channel. It is a
double tnc,so we don't need a second gateway channel.

Do not use terminal mode on gates. It may cause troubles in
other channels.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
