*** We are going through the following tests on any
release.


Default bbs memory allocation is abt 251K. We have
worked with this amount of memory without problems,with the
following configuration:

1) 8 tnc channels total.4 on the 1st port and 4 on the 2nd
port. (Sysop's channel and dos task are always defined
internal. Each additional channel,allocates about 11K of
memory.)

2) 1000 msgs active,2000 bids active.

3) Maximum continuous duty,8 days.(Without unload or power
off.We had to switch off the system on the 9th day to avoid
overheating,hi)

We have worked bbs with a total of 20 channels including
Sysop. The whole memory allocation adjusted to 380K. We
used pk232 on the 1st port and tnc-2 on the 2nd port with
NordLink 18 channels firmware. We had 8 channels on pk232
and 10 channels on tnc-2. The result of this test
was,success.

We have also worked bbs in full support operation with a
total of 24 channels. We used tnc-2 on the 1st port,pk232
on the 2nd,drsi on 5th,6th virtual ports,tnc-2 on the 3d
port,remote qsy on the 4th port.(Qsy not under the included
driver). We had 4 channels on the 1st port,8 channels on
the 2nd,4 channels on 5th-6th and 8 channels on the 3d
port.The whole procedure ran on a PC-XT machine - 8MHz
clock - 640k total memory.5 days continous duty. The only
problem we 've met was the memory limit.We hadn't enough
space to work the editor with larger than 2k files and we
couldn't handle more than 200-300 bids.Drsi's tnctsr driver
captures about 40k,so these problems may not exist if
instead of drsi we use some other tnc.Cache programs will
not allow such configuration,because of their at least 64k
memory capture.

Drsi gave us no problem also.You can work this card with
less memory allocation than the default,because it supports
only 4 channels. We suggest an amount of 215K.
