Dear Friend:
The program you have just received is ABC FUN KEYS Version 4.0.
This is a major upgrade to a program which has been distributed
via "Shareware" since 1986. Two new games have been added to
this release. Perhaps most significant, ABC FUN KEYS now
supports monochrome monitors! The file WHATS.NEW contains a list
of all the improvements that have been incorporated in this
latest version.
Support for ABC FUN KEYS includes an electronic bulletin board
system (BBS). In addition to the latest version of ABC FUN KEYS,
the board contains other educational programs for children, plus
fine shareware and public domain utilities for you to download.
I am working to provide on-line program registration so you can
have fast access to the registered user files. The ABC BBS's
phone number is (619) 436-3525. (300/1200/2400,N,8,1)
Documentation and registration instructions for ABC FUN KEYS are
contained in the file ABC.DOC. You can send this file to your
printer by typing the command...
COPY ABC.DOC PRN
I hope that you and a child enjoy and receive great benefit from
the use of this program. It was written with a great deal of
love for my two children and I am extremely pleased to be able to
pass it on to other children through the "Shareware" software
distribution system. In the spirit of "Shareware", I encourage
you to give copies of the shareware version of this program to
friends with young children. Please show your support for this
kind of software and register your copy of ABC FUN KEYS.
Thanks in advance and enjoy ABC FUN KEYS!

Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
