PEEPSHOW is a picture viewer/slideshow for IBM compatibles with VESA
compatible SVGA cards. GIF, PCX, TGA, TIF, and FLI picture file formats
are supported. PEEPSHOW will use available DOS memory, EMS, and XMS memory.
However, the program was designed for 386 computers and SVGA cards with at
least 512K memory. Therefor, HIMEM.SYS, EMM386.SYS or QEMM386.SYS should
be installed and 4 MEGS of EMS/XMS ram should be available, but two
should work ok just fine.
This program will work on most SVGA VESA compatible boards. Almost every
SVGA board out there comes with a VESA compatible driver (i.e. SVGA.COM or
SVGA.EXE on your SVGA driver disk), so if your's doesn't, you might want
to get a new SVGA card.
For those of you who have the newer versions of Paradise, Trident, and other
cards (especially the newer windows accelerator cards) are recommended to
use the VESA.COM or VESA.EXE files as some of these cards have changes that
may have unpredictable results on your SVGA card. The VESA drivers usually
take up less than 10k (which usually can be loaded high) so try and use it
if you can.
If you haven't figured out how to use PEEPSHOW yet, it's pretty simple.
There are only 9-10 keys you will ever need to use.
From the window/box you may view a picture at any time simply by pressing
[ENTER] or [Space bar]. You can move around to any directory by selecting it
(a name with a for example). To add the picture the cursor is currently
on, press F9 and it will be added to the current list.
Press F10 and you will be at the slideshow menu.
From the slideshow menu you may select the current picture by pressing '1'.
Then enter the line where you wish to place it. The picture on that line
will be overwritten.
Remove a picture by pressing '2', and entering it's line number.
Entering '3' will start the show.
Enter '4' to change the delay rate.
Enter '5' to clear the current list.
Enter '6' to toggle the fade option.
Enter '7' to load a new set of files.
Enter '8' to save the current list of files.
F1 - Toggle graphics mode to 300x200x256.
F7/F8 - Change current SVGA mode.
F9/F10 - Brighten/Darken picture.
As you can see the program is very simplistic and hopefully you will grow
fond of it and register.
Any suggestions on how to improve the program are greatly appreciated.
