This is a computer artist's program. Type "Fdesign" to get started. A
coprocessor is highly recommended.

IMPORTANT: While a fractal is plotting, the mouse response time is slow, so
you may have to HOLD the left mouse button down until the top menu appears.

The variety of screens you can obtain is virtually limitless.

A bunch of .TRN files are included. They are files containing
transformations for fractals that are famous and also some that I have
found interesting.

Select "load from disk" at the top menu to retrieve a transformation file.
Any of the fractals may be changed once loaded. They are saved only if you
select "save to disk" at the top menu.

To begin experimenting, select "modify transformations" from the top menu.
Also, be sure to read the fdesign.doc file included. And if you're really
interested, buy the "Fractals Everywhere" book referenced in the
fdesign.doc file.

Included files are: Fdesign.exe, Fdesign.doc, Readme.doc and several .TRN
files.

WARNING: This program runs slow on a machine without a co-processor and
requires a mouse and EGA or VGA.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
