EGA_LSD is a computer simulation of the psychic state
induced by the chemical d-lysergic acid diethylamide. First
isolated at Sandoz labs in Basil, Switzerland, LSD is a potent
(about 100 micrograms/dose) hallucinogen that quickly attracted
attention from both scientists and philosophers.
While explored as a therapy for major phsychiatric woes
such as schizophrenia, its non medicinal virtues are what caught
the public's interest in the early 1960's.
A subject, when administered a dose, experiences changes
in awareness and altered states of consciousness which are hard to
describe with English words. Often this viewpoint is accompanied
by visual hallucinations of vibrating color. Having reviewed
accounts of such "trips", I have attempted to capture some
essence of the experience in an electronic form.
