LAST MINUTE UPDATES/CHANGES:
____________________________
I have discovered that there is a conflict associated with the
combination of AUTO-MATE, AutoCAD, and versions of DOS prior to 4.0.
The problem occurs when the environmental variables "ACAD" and "ACADCFG"
are set outside of AUTO-MATE or the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Upon exiting
AutoCAD after such a change has been made, the system will hang, and the
error message "BAD OR MISSING COMMAND.COM" or something similar will be
displayed. A solution to this problem is to set the environmental
variables to the most used setting in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and only
change the settings through the "CONFIGURE" option in AUTO-MATE.
Another soulution is to run the AUTO-MATE batch file AUTO.BAT with
the "COMMAND" command. For example, instead of typing "AUTO" to execute
AUTO-MATE, type "COMMAND /C AUTO".
WHAT'S NEW:
___________
The following features and corrections are new to AUTO-MATE v2.4:
o AUTO-MATE will now take advantage of the SHROOM.EXE program
distributed with AutoCAD 11.
o AUTO-MATE will now function properly with AutoCAD 11 and the DOS
SHARE program installed.
o AUTO-MATE will now uncompress and re-compress drawing files piped
to an optional program via the AUTO-MATE "SHELL" command.
o AUTO-MATE will now uncompress compressed drawings selected for
editing in the shell mode; however, AUTO-MATE will NOT automatically
re-compress the drawing files upon exit from AutoCAD.
o Support for some CAD programs other than AutoCAD has been added.
o AUTO-MATE should now work on a network system; however, I have been
unable to fully test it on such a system. Please note the change
required in the AUTO.BAT file, which is made automatically when the
included installation program is used.
o AutoCAD plot parameters may now be saved for individual drawings.
