WHETSTONE III (TM) DOCUMENTATION



This program requires an 80386 with a numeric co-processor or an 80486
processor to operate. This version of the Whetstone benchmark runs in
PROTECTED mode and will report the speed of your computer using the
standard Whetstone results.

Metaware's HIGH 'C' compiler was used to compile the program, and a DOS
DOS extender was bound to the program to enable protected mode
operation.

You are granted a LIMITED, NON-EXCLUSIVE license limited to thirty
days. During the thirty day license period, the author expects you to
evaluate this software to determine if it suits your needs. At the end
of the thirty days, you MUST register the software with the author and
obtain a license, or stop using the software.

COMMERCIAL USE OF THIS PROGRAM OR THE RESULTS PRODUCED BY THIS PROGRAM
IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED UNLESS YOU HAVE FIRST OBTAINED A COMMERCIAL
LICENSE FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE PROGRAM.

Before you run the program, please copy ALL of the files to your hard
disk or to a diskette. Then run SETUP.BAT which will configure the
kernel of the DOS extender for your machine's configuration. This is
IMPORTANT and MUST be done!

The fee for a non-commercial license is $25 (US) and includes a
license, the latest version of the compiled program and free updates
for one year. The fee for a COMMERCIAL license is $100 (US) and
includes the above along with a license to use the program and/or
results for commercial purposes.
