Bootsec.doc - by Jay 5/30/86

I was working on some programs that had to do with various disk
formats. To make my life easier I wrote this little program that
extracts the standard disk information that is placed in the
bootsector of most disks and prints it to the screen. You may
find it educational to browse through your disks and see what
is hidden in there. I hope you find it useful.

Usage - BOOTSEC [drive:]

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
