Enhancements, Changes or Fixes for SETDRAW.EXE Ver 4.0 March 22, 1993

SetDRAW 4.0 is a significant change from 2.1 and is designed to work with
only CorelDRAW 4.0 and its INI files.

Because Corel 3.0 will still be sold and supported by Corel, there will be
two versions of SetDRAW sold and supported by Shooting Brick Productions.
As SetDRAW 2.X is upgraded, its version number will become 3.X to match
the version of Corel it works with.

Enhancements:

>>> To the Main interface:

New overall design to reflect the many changes in the INI files.

Many new controls were added. Each has a help button to explain
their function and purpose.

New controls: "Reduce on Import" Setting
"Max Texture BitMap Size" Setting
"Show Group Details" Setting
"Italicize Read-Only Cells" On/Off
"Highlight Top level Objects" On/Off
"Full Screen Bitmap Thumbnail"On/Off
"Fountain Fill Preset" File

The Font settings section is gone because there is no longer a "Default
Font entry in the INI file.

Added "TrueType Enable" and "TrueType Only." It was in a dialog box that
only appeared if the settings were TrueType off or Only.

>>> To Edit Special Listings:

Enlarged the text window so more information can be displayed. This text
windows has a "spreadsheet grid" feel. This helps display columns of text
items for easy reading.

Replaced the Install/Show "WPG export" feature with "Show EPS Export Header"

Added a print function so you can print whatever text is loaded.

All buttons now work for evaluation period.

Enlarged the "Edit Text" area for more "elbow room."

Added a "Restore Missing Entries" feature (appears only when missing
entries are being reviewed).

>>> A new section was added that displays settings for the shared Corel 4.0
print engine. Some controls were moved to this section from the Main
interface but most are new.

New Controls: "PostSript Overprint Black Limit" Setting
"PostScript Driver" Listing
"Dump Entire Bitmap" ON/Off
"Color Curve" Directory
"Color Circuit" Directory
"CMYKtoRGB" File
"RGBtoCMYK" File
"Current Template" File
"Color Output" File

>>> Because of the new directory structure for Corel 4.0 system (a full
install has more than 30 subdirectories), the Directory listings section
was expanded to double its original size. The only directory listings that
are not new are: "Config," "AutoBackup," "Fonts and Symbols," and
"Filters," and "DRAW"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feature enhancements:

SetDRAW will now "fluff" the filters listing. Whenever you change the
"Filters" directory, SetDRAW visits the new directory and updates the
filters list to enable or disable the entries according to what filters
are in the directory.

A similar feature for the symbols list is in the works.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
