This is to users of version x115 of DBTCNVT:

A bug was discovered after I placed the utility on the BBS which
was related to changing the default blocksize using the /B
parameter. If you used this parameter and now your data appears
messed up you should do the following:

DBTCNVT filename /Rx /P

Make sure you are using the x117 version of DBTCNVT and set 'x'
to be the blocksize you were wanting to convert to in the first
place. The filename is of course the file that is showing the
strange memo data.

All future data conversions using x117 will be fine, I've fixed
the pesky bug.

I apologize for any problems this might have caused.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
