TRANSFERRING FILES FROM LOTUS 1-2-3 TO dBASE III

Starting in Lotus 1-2-3

1) Access the file you wish to transfer;
2) Note column-widths (you will need this information to set
up your file structure in dBASE);
3) / PRINT FILE (access and open file for storage);
4) Enter (filename). This will automatically be assigned a
.PRN extension;
5) RANGE (select appropriate range to be transferred);
6) OPTIONS MARGIN (set left margin to 0);
7) OPTIONS MARGIN (set right margin to 240);
8) OPTIONS OTHER (set to unformatted);
9) GO (writes file to disk in a printable form);
10) QUIT;
11) EXIT LOTUS 1-2-3;

ENTER dBASE III

1) CREATE (filename) (should be a different name from filename
name you are transferring into dBASE;
2) Build your structure according to the column-widths you
have previously recorded;
3) CRTL END (saves structure);
4) system will query "add records now? Y/N" "N";
5) APPEND FROM (filename, saved from LOTUS) .PRN SDF;

FILE TRANSFER NOW COMPLETED
