READ.ME Blinker 1.51 Update 92.01.15

This maintenance update to Blinker 1.5 consists of this file READ.ME
and the EXE file BLIUPD.EXE, and may be freely distributed on BBS's,
disks or in any other form (please include this READ.ME with it).

PLEASE READ THIS FILE IN ITS ENTIRETY AS IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND
EFFORT INSTALLING AND USING THE UPDATE.

Installing the update
---------------------

To install the update please change directory to the Blinker
directory, copy these files into the directory and then run BLIUPD by
typing BLIUPD at the DOS prompt.

Please ensure that the BLINKER.EXE present in this directory is
version 1.50, the program will NOT update any previous version of
BLINKER.

The program will display a message explaining that a the existing
file BLINKER.EXE will be renamed to BLIOLD.EXE and the new 1.51 file
BLINKER.EXE will be created in its place.

THIS PROGRAM WILL NOT UPDATE DEMONSTRATION OR BETA VERSIONS !!

The major reason for this update is to provide free of charge the
enhanced overlaying capability which will be included as part of
the forthcoming Blinker 2.0 available shortly. A major reason for
providing this is that a number of libraries being updated or
released at the present time will make use of this enhanced
overlaying capability.

The update also includes a fix for a problem with the Japanese
version of Clipper (4.5) a fix for an extremely rare cumulative
problem with incremental linking, and a few maintenance changes.
For these reasons we would recommend everyone upgrading to 1.51
as soon as is convenient.
