Zmax is fairly easy to use, just follow the parameter guide in
the Zmax.doc file.

Zmax is designed to replace Zmodem. It's faster and handles noisy
lines much better. Zmax isn't the fastest protocol around, Tmodem
is considerably faster but Zmax handles noisy lines better than
Tmodem.

To use Zmax to its fullest, you'll need to setup several
different definitions for it in your terminal program for
receiving or downloading files.

(NON-MNP Connects)

I would suggest that you setup one that gives you 1024 byte
Blocks in stream mode. This is for the systems you call and
you always get good lines and rarely, if every, have any bad
blocks.

I would then setup one that used 512 byte blocks in stream mode.
This is for those system that you call but you do on occation get
resend requests. This will save you about 2.2 seconds if you get
ONE resend request and about 5 seconds if you get 2 of them. 5
seconds can make a BIG difference in your thoughput.

Finally, setup one that uses 128 byte blocks in NON-STREAM mode.
This is for systems you call that always have bad lines. Your
thoughput will be much better.

If your calling a system that supports MNP and so do you, then I
would go so far as to setup one that always requested 2048 byte
blocks in STREAM mode. The likely hood that you'll get any errors
is so small its not really worth worrying about.
