# Target Program: PROCOMM PLUS version 1.1B
#
# There is a bug in version 1.1B that occurs when two callers in a row call
# in at a baud rate less than the initial baud rate. When Alt-Q is pressed
# (or the HOST ASPECT command is executed) the initial baud rate is remembered
# and assumed to be the highest speed the modem supports. Each time a user
# disconnects, the port is reset to the remembered rate. Under certain
# circumstances the port and the modem are at different speeds and the modem's
# connect messages are unreadable so auto baud detection fails. By sending the
# auto-answer string between each call, the port and the modem are synchronized
# to the same baud rate and the connect messages work again.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
