Full Description of File
SNOOPY version 3.6 is an easy-to-use freeware utility that reads an imbedded
file called FILE_ID.DIZ found in most compressed archive files downloaded
via modem from electronic bulletin board systems (BBS). SNOOPY is so easy to
use that these docs are actually quite uneccesary, but required by a majority
of BBS operators (sysops).

A FILE_ID.DIZ file is a short text file that briefly describes the program it
accompanies. It is useful to both the BBS sysop and to the person who down-
loads the compressed program from the BBS. Sysops often use the FILE_ID.DIZ
to automatically create a description of the program being added to their
files listing. The user can read the FILE_ID.DIZ to quickly remind themselves
what the program is intended to do, months after they downloaded it and can
no longer remember the program's main purpose. Here the problem arises: how
do you read a file that is imbedded in a file compressed with one of the
compression programs, such as PKZip, ARJ, or LHA? There are several ways to
do this, but each compression program uses a different method requiring you
to remember or look up its unique syntax. SNOOPY does all of this for you,
