What the heck is a RingBack????
Well RingBack is a 'front end' type of program that will permit you
to run a bulletin board on your 'voice' phone line without the
inconvenience of having your 'voice' callers hear the modem 'scrrrreeeeem'
at them. It can be used with any program that can accept a parameter
of, the baud rate, and has been tested with programs like PcAnyWhere
and regular boards like Opus.
Also RingBack can be used with an answering machine!!! Plus
it adds the protection of not permitting 'War Dialers' to find out
that you have a modem on your phone!
Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
