This is a brief explanation to help clarify the correct settings for high
speed modem (14.4 or MNP support) modem's. With these modems you need to
set the modems baud speed HIGHER than the modems highest connection rate.
ie 14.4 modem would be set to 19.2 or higher. You can set this as high as
you would like, however, there will be a point where you will start to
loose screen characters. At this point you would need to set the speed
lower.

In configuration are E (Alt-C;E) you should have these settings:

ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ CONFIGURATION AREA E
ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄ

[C] Use CTS/RTS flow control: YES

[F] Auto-detect connect speed: NO

You baud speed setting should be 19.2 or higher, as well as your dialing
directories. You can change the dialing entries speed with the "B"
command in the dialing directory.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
