A WINDOWING PACKAGE FOR THE IBM PC
"ICURSES" v. 1.0
by
WHITware
Copyright, 1987, 1988, Bob Whitten, Tujunga, CA
NOTICE: This software is not in the public domain: it
remains the property of the author, Bob Whitten. You
are hereby given license to use it in source and/or
compiled form in whatever programs you may wish to
write. You may make unlimited copies of this software
and distribute it to others if and only if you pass the
whole package, unmodified, with the author's copyright
notices and registration notices left intact. You may
not sell this software, in whole or in part, or
incorporate the source in a product to sell, except in
compiled form, or in source form if the whole package
is included, as above (If changes were necessary, you
may include the unmodified version and the changed
version). Note: you may delete the opening banner in
compiled code if you would like.
DISCLAIMER: This software is provided AS-IS. No warranty
is expressed or implied. While the author believes that
this package is substantially without defect, the user is
hereby notified that this software cannot be guaranteed to
work in every feature, circumstance, or environment, and
cannot be relied upon in cases where injury to personnel or
damage to property may result in the failure of this
software.
The above disclaimer applies equally to registered and non-
registered users.
REGISTRATION: With all that behind us, let's talk
real-life. I don't believe it is fair to try to make
honest programmers feel guilty for using a "shareware"
package before registering. But neither would it be
fair to expect me to create this incredibly wonderful
package just for fun. Everyone who uses this for a
non-trivial program is encouraged to send a
registration fee of $30. In exchange, you will receive
a nicer manual, the latest copy of ICURSES, whatever
goodies I have for extras (not for public
distribution), and will be sent information about new
versions, utilities, etc. for ICURSES (there may be a
minor charge for program updates). You will also
receive the warm feeling that you have supported a
programmer who needs the money.
Within reason, I will attempt to answer problem
reports. I cannot offer phone support at this time,
but I do maintain accounts on CompuServe (ID: 72220,
2137) and BIX (user name: bwhit). If you do not have
access to either of these, you can always send a letter
to the address below. Of course, I can only offer
support to registered users.
Please note that while the benefits of registering are many,
it does not mean that you own the software (only I own it),
and it does not mean that you may sell it. But, you may use
it in any way you want in any program you want, whether for
fun or profit.

Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
