grab -- grab comments from a C programme
.s
Synopsis:
.b
grab [-l #] [-r] [file ...]
.s
Description:
.s
Grab searches through the named files for marked C style comments and
copies them to the standard output.
.s
A comment is marked by a string of digits immediately following the
opening comment delimiter. No whitespace may appear between the delimiter
and the digit string.
This digit string specifies the level of the comment, with level zero
being the highest level.
.s
The -l option specifies the highest comment level which will appear
in the output.
Grab defaults to -l 0, which extracts only level 0 comments. Since
level 0 comments are intended to be used for the abstract of a programme
module, the default action of grab is to extract a general description
of the module.
.s
The -r option instructs grab to strip off the comment delimiters and
to insert a sufficient number of runoff directives into the output
to insure that the comment stays sane when passed through the text
formatter. This makes it easier to insert the output of grab into a
formal manual.
.s
Bugs:
.s
The -r option is a no-op.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
