=======================< WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED? >=======================
This patch contains the following files:
README.TXT - This file
PATCH.EXE - Program which applies the patch
PATCH.RTP - Patch file used by PATCH.EXE
The patch modifies the CL.EXE and MS32KRNL.DLL files which are
provided with Microsoft C/C++ version 7.0. Once the patch is applied,
the compiler will use memory more efficiently under a Windows DOS
session. Thus, this patch is only helpful if you are compiling under
Windows. By applying this patch, it is less likely that
you will receive "C1060: Out of Far Heap Space" messages and it fixes
an obscure bug where compiling the same source file twice may produce
different size .OBJ files when compiling under Windows. This patch does
not fix any other bugs.
=====================< INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS >====================
Copy the enclosed files (PATCH.EXE and PATCH.RTP) to the
directory where you installed Microsoft C/C++ version 7.0
(for instance, C:\C700). From that directory, type 'PATCH' to
invoke the PATCH.EXE program.
