F If you wish to allow the caller to download QSUSBBS.ZIP in USBBSDOR,9 the location entered here is also used for QSUSBBS.ZIP. F Even if downloading is not desired, this parameter is also used ifF USBBSDOR is registered and you wish it to automatically detect andF extract a new USBBS list to its appropriate location. Refer to the= USBBSDOR manual for a detailed explanation of this feature.Û / Disable "searching" message/ ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ F When performing certain search functions on the USBBS list, USBBSDORF will display a "searching..." message between "finds". On fasterF systems, these "searching.." messages come and go so fast that theyF appear to be little glitches on the screen. After you have installedF USBBSDOR, select CA as a state to search then observe between areaF codes as listings are displayed. Usually, only nodes running onF 8088s, slow drives, or in extremely heavy network traffic will need this option enabled.Û 0 Line Separating Each Listing0 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ F You may specify between three character types to use for separating; each listing as it is displayed, or no separation at all. 1 Valid answers are 0, 1, 2, or 3 as shown below: D Type 0: NONE. Each listing will be displayed with no separation. : Type 1: ASCII 45 characters (-----------------------) : Type 2: ASCII 196 characters (ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ) : Type 3: ASCII 205 characters (ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ) C Separator type #2 is highly recommended for easiest list viewing.Û 5 Set Non-Standard COM Information5 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ F If COM ports other than 1 or 2 are used, the base address and IRQ of) each non-standard port must be defined. F Answering Y to this parameter moves the cursor to the IRQ selection9 window where you may enter the appropriate information. A Enter the base address in HEX for the appropriate ports in use. 8 Enter the IRQ (1-15) for the appropriate ports in use. F Allowing multiple ports to be defined in a single USBBSDOR.CNF fileF facilitates the need for only one configuration file for all nodes.F When a COM port other than 1 or 2 is detected in the BBS door infor-A mation file, the appropriate information is used for that port. B Base address and IRQ settings for COM 1 and 2 cannot be changed.Û 5 (F)ast-search Area Code or State5 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ F The Sysop may configure the (F)ast-search command to immediatelyF display an Area code or State without any additional prompting fromF the caller. Simply enter a three digit area code, or two digit state* code (Sysop's choice) at this parameter. F Tip: If there are numerous listings in your area code, you may wishF to enter just your area code. If you are in an area code where thereF are a limited number of listings in the USBBS list, you may wish to enter the state code. E To disable the (F)ast-search option, simply leave this field blank.Û - Use a FOSSIL Driver- ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ F USBBSDOR can communicate with an installed FOSSIL driver instead of1 communicating directly with the serial port(s). F If your BBS software does not use a FOSSIL driver, answer No to thisF question. If you are not sure if your BBS uses a FOSSIL driver, it probably does not. F If your BBS software requires a FOSSIL driver, you may wish to haveF USBBSDOR use it. Check your BBS manual for additional information on6 the use of doors that support FOSSIL communications.Û 0 USBBSDOR Registration Number0 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ F USBBSDOR is fully functional in unregistered copies except for theF "automatic new list extraction" feature. Registration enables thisF feature and replaces the "Unregistered Copy" message at program5 termination with the name of the registered system. F Registration also will allow you to personalize a copy of QSUSBBSF with your BBS name and phone number (see the enclosed documentation for additional information). F You may receive a customized registration number INSTANTLY! Refer to- the file ORDER.FRM located in USBDOR51.ZIP. Û
Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
