overwhelmed with requests for it. So instead of doing them all in email,
here it is for everyone.
I'll call this SAM06.MOD to conform to Filo's convention request, but you can
call it what you like. I did not write it originally, and haven't a clue who
did. In my own modding Dir, I call it LINENOSE.MOD.
This mod will spew out line noise to the person on the other end as long as
you hold down the Shift-F5 key. Let up on it, and it will go back to normal
for him. Lay on it for a while and they will probably hang up on their own.
Step 1. You don't even need to back up your source for this one.
Step 2.
In void skey in conio.c, search for case 88. Comment it out and replace it
with this one.
/* + */ case 88: /* Shift-F5 */
/* + */ i1=(rand() % 20) + 10;
/* + */ for (i=0; i
/* + */ break;
/* Original code resumes here */
case 98: /* Ctrl-F5 */
nl();
pl("Call back later when you are there.");
nl();
hangup=1;
That's it. If you use this mod, consider all the time I took to cut it out and
edit it, send me $100.00. 🙂 Or just continue to enjoy the greatest BBS
software written, WWIV.
Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
